Anti Ragging Cell
Ragging is strictly forbidden under Indian law. Anyone found guilty of committing ragging acts and/or indulging and/or attempting to indulge in any of its forms will face punishment under the Indian Penal Code, 1860, the Maharashtra Prohibition of Ragging Act, 1999, and the UGC Regulation on Combating Ragging in Higher Educational Institutions, 2009.
An Anti-Ragging Cell was established in accordance with the requirements of the UGC Revised Procedure for Anti-Ragging Mechanism (Ref. No.: D. O. No. F. 3-2/2021 (ARC)) and the judgement of the Hon'ble Supreme Court in Civil Appeal No. 887 of 2009.
Objectives
1.To educate students about the dangers of ragging and to raise awareness among students.
2.To take measures against the misbehaving pupil
3.To handle ragging allegations in accordance with Central and State government notifications and circulars, as well as university regulations.
4.To keep track of the cases investigated and make annual reports on them.
5.To be friendly and available for student help and needs.
TAKEN ACTION AGAINST THE PERSON FOUND GUILTY
Following an investigation and an impartial examination of the situation by the Anti-Ragging Cell, the student/s found guilty will be expelled, suspended, or dismissed from the College, and an F.I.R. will be filed against them with the police in accordance with the applicable legislation.
