The department was established in 1977. Special Hindi subject was started in 1979 AD and postgraduate department was started in 1990-91. Hindi Department offers B.A., B.Com, B.Sc and M.A. General and special level courses are taught. Total 05 teachers are working in Hindi department. Head of Department of Hindi Prof.Dr. Sahebrao Gaikwad (M.A., Ph.D.) since 1993, Pvt. Gorakh Ide (M.A., NET) from 2016 AD, Pvt. Santosh Gawande (M.A., NET) from 2012 AD, Pvt. Anil Jhine (M.A., SET, NET) from 2017 AD, Prof.Dr. Dipashree Gadakh (M.A., Ph.D.) 2018 AD | 03 teachers of the department are alumni of the college.

            Most of the students studying in the department belong to ST, SC. and N.T. belong to the tribe. Due to 60 percent of the area being tribal and backward, the economic condition of the students is not so good. This area is non-Hindi, the mother tongue here is Marathi and there is not much promotion and dissemination of Hindi language here. The department is making efforts to reach the parents of students of Agasti Arts, Commerce and Dadasaheb Rupwate Science College, Akole Tehsil - Akole, District - Ahmednagar (Maharashtra) with adequate knowledge of Hindi, the national language of Hindi.

1. To create interest in Hindi language and literature among students.
2. To encourage creative usage of Hindi language.
3. To encourage applied usage of Hindi and thereby to enhance their employability.
4. To encourage the learners to create modern literature.

2. To create employment opportunities in the context of Hindi language.
3. Promotion of Hindi language in non-Hindi speaking areas.

1. Starting Hindi Correct Spelling Certificate Course.
2. Organizing Hindi employment training workshop for the students.
3. To start functional Hindi certificate course.
4. Starting Hindi revision center.
