The Agasti Arts, Commerce and Dadasaheb Rupwate Science college began on 1st July 1974.The science faculty has been started from 1987. The Department of Physics has been established in 1990. There were 6 students admitted for T.Y.B.Sc.(Physics) in first batch. In Starting days, we had very small laboratories and class rooms, nowadays we have well equipped laboratories, well developed digital classrooms and computer laboratories. Till the date there are many numbers of student passed out and working in various national and international institutes, companies and in government administration at various posts.           

        Starting a physics department in a rural area can be a rewarding endeavour. It can provide students in the region with access to quality education and help them develop an interest in science. To Evaluate the local educational infrastructure, student interest, and available resources. The vision for starting a physics department in a rural area is to provide quality education and opportunities in the field of physics to students who may not have easy access to such resources. By establishing a physics department, we aim to ignite curiosity, inspire scientific thinking, and empower students to pursue careers in science and technology. Through practical experiments, hands-on learning, and a comprehensive curriculum, we envision creating a nurturing environment that fosters intellectual growth and critical thinking skills. Our goal is to bridge the educational gap between rural and urban areas, equipping students with the knowledge and skills necessary to succeed in the ever-advancing scientific world.
