Faculty of Wine, Brewing and Alcohol Technology:
Wine technology is one of the functional and industrial
branches of science. The
Indian wine market is growing 30% - 40% annually. Establishment of academic
institutes in the area of wine technology had opened new frontiers of career
opportunities for young aspirants. Every wine company wants to employ skilled
professionals having acquaintance and proficiency of wine making. This provides
a good scope to wine industries. Taking this into consideration our institution
had started a self autonomous Degree course in Wine Brewing and Alcohol
Technology affiliated to Savitribai Phule Pune University Pune from 2014. The
climate and geographical conditions of Maharashtra is favorable for grape
cultivation. Wine graduates can explore their knowledge and skill to cultivate
good quality grapes which has a direct influence on the quality of wine. Research
in wine technology also has a great scope to make a new blended wine. The
broad vision of Akole Taluka Education Society resulted in the organization of
Wine technology Department. There is huge scope for this subject & it will
be helpful for the students.
ABOUT
DEGREE COURSE:
Wine Brewing and
Alcohol Technology autonomous Degree course had started from 2014. The course
makes an attempt to impart all the aspects of wine preparation to the students.
Wine graduates have scope wineries, alcohol plants and beverage industry. They
can also set up their own vineyards (grapes farming) and wineries.The sincere and hard efforts of Department and College
develop the students in such a new area.
Our salient
features:
It
is a full time three years course imparting vast knowledge and practical skill
in wine making including Vineyard management, wine biochemistry and
microbiology, sensory evaluation of wine, wine utilities and equipments, wine
laws and wine marketing. Skilled staff, well
equipped Laboratory, Library, Field visits, Guest Lectures, Internship, Projects,
Eligibility:
XII –Science
with biology disciplines OR 10+2
years diploma course in agriculture OR Diploma
in Food Processing and wine Technology or Horticulture.
